ACLU: Amplify Megaphone Mailer

Direct Mailer • Spring 2025

The phrase “Amplify Black voices!” has, unfortunately, become a sentence that people say without actually doing anything about it. This direct mailer concept for the ACLU's Racial Justice Program takes that language and makes it literal: an eco-friendly cardboard megaphone, delivered to your door, ready to use.

The mailer pairs the physical object with the copy “We're not asking permission anymore,” then, the insert explains how ACLU's Racial Justice Program fights mass incarceration, protects voting rights, and demands police accountability. It places a tool directly in your hands to make your own voice heard. Take it to a protest. A town hall. A school board meeting. Anywhere you've been talked over, dismissed, or ignored.

For the Black recipients, it's a physical reminder that your voice matters and deserves to be heard. For allies, it's a quiet challenge: everyone says that they want to amplify marginalized voices, but most people stop at the occasional Instagram share. This drops the tool directly into your hands and asks... so, what are you going to do about it?
